The Trust & Safety (T&S) GenAI & Emerging Product team is dedicated to supporting the development of generative AI models and applications by creating a top-tier safety, testing, and risk management platform. Their goal is to ensure responsible releases of GenAI innovations.

Role Overview

The Technical Product Manager for GenAI Safety Solutions drives the overarching "GenAI Safety-as-a-Solution" platform strategy, taking a broad, company-wide perspective rather than focusing on any single product. This role involves anticipating industry trends, investigating emerging GenAI safety risks, and partnering with Algorithm and Research & Development teams to build centralized tools, platforms, and models that support the various GenAI Safety products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of core GenAI safety infrastructure platforms like BEATS for evaluation and auto-labeling; Excalibur for unified moderation; and ByteRadar for live post-launch monitoring.
• Deliver evaluation systems including auto-labeling capabilities, safety leaderboards, prompt governance frameworks, and tools to facilitate adversarial attack experiments (red-teaming).
• Collaborate with Algo teams to build GenAI content moderation models addressing both content safety and intellectual property/copyright risks across multiple GenAI modalities.
• Develop foundation model guardrails such as safety filters and data sanitization pipelines for base GenAI models.
• Design and refine systems leveraging AI-powered agentic development techniques.
• Manage long-term safety solution programs working closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Conduct ongoing research into cutting-edge GenAI risk vectors—including jailbreaks, attack strategies, case studies, and policies—and translate findings into actionable safety features.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, engineering, data science, or machine learning; experience in Trust & Safety domains is an advantage.
• Proven ability to build technical solutions from scratch, independently or with small interdisciplinary teams spanning product, R&D, Algorithm, and Data Science.
• Fluent in Mandarin to liaise with Chinese content and stakeholders, and proficient in English as the working language.
• Strong product design skills with an analytical approach to data and passion for solving complex product ecosystem challenges.
• Hands-on familiarity and strong curiosity with generative AI technologies and AI-assisted agentic development tools such as Codex, Claude Code, and Mira.
