Job description
About the Company
We are collaborating with a reputable commercial construction firm seeking to enhance its project delivery team by hiring a skilled construction professional with hands-on knowledge of building assembly on site.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for Site Managers or technically proficient site staff aiming to expand their careers beyond daily site supervision and obtain broader experience in engineering, coordination, procurement, and project management.
Placed within the project team, you will maintain strong engagement with site execution while gaining insight into the technical and commercial aspects essential for successful construction.
Your responsibilities will span site coordination and project administration, including overseeing construction activities, managing subcontractors, reviewing short-term schedules, handling Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical documentation, coordinating shop drawings, inspections, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), managing procurement tracking, and supporting quality assurance and compliance.
This position also offers involvement in subcontractor procurement and administration, progress reporting, managing defects, certification procedures, and project handover activities.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in vertical construction projects
- Past roles such as Site Manager, Site Engineer, or an equivalent position on site
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
- Capability to manage subcontractors and resolve on-site challenges effectively
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding technical documentation, quality assurance, and programming
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Preferably holds a qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
The position requires a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, at least two years' experience, technical expertise, and strengths in problem solving, communication, critical thinking, planning, and reporting.
Benefits and Opportunities
This role allows candidates with practical vertical construction site experience to leverage their background while broadening their skills in technical coordination, scheduling, procurement, quality control, and holistic project delivery.
You will collaborate closely with the project team, Quality, Safety & Environment (QSE) team, and commercial/financial departments, offering significantly broader exposure than typical site-focused roles.
The company also provides training and development opportunities, including upskilling on their integrated management systems and project protocols.
