Site Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Site Electrical Engineer to manage electrical execution for Solar PV projects in Riyadh. The role involves overseeing field installation, quality checks, safety compliance, reporting, and support through testing and commissioning until handover.

Project Execution

• Carry out site electrical activities for solar PV installations, covering both DC and AC systems.
• Handle DC-side work such as module stringing, DC cable laying, and combiner box installation.
• Manage AC-side scope including inverters, LT panels, transformers, RMUs, and switchyard-related work.
• Make sure execution follows approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
• Work closely with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to keep daily site activities aligned.

Installation and Supervision

• Oversee electrical installation work performed by contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure correct installation of modules, inverters, cables, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
• Track progress on site and support timely completion of planned activities.

Quality Control

• Follow project quality plans, ITPs, and inspection requirements throughout the work.
• Carry out inspections, testing, and pre-commissioning checks as required.
• Work with contractors to close defects and resolve non-conformance issues.

Safety and Compliance

• Maintain strict compliance with HSE rules and all site safety procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe working practices on site.
• Ensure activities meet statutory requirements and client safety standards.

Coordination and Reporting

• Coordinate regularly with the Project Manager, Electrical Lead, QA/QC team, and HSE team.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress updates, along with material consumption reports.
• Support inspections involving the client, consultant, and internal teams.

Testing and Commissioning Support

• Assist with testing and commissioning activities such as string testing and IV curve testing.
• Support inverter and transformer energization activities.
• Provide support for SCADA and monitoring systems.
• Help ensure the site is ready for grid synchronization and final handover.

Material and Documentation

• Track receipt, storage, and usage of materials at site.
• Ensure electrical materials are tagged, handled, and installed correctly.
• Keep as-built drawings, checklists, and handover documents updated and complete.
