Site Civil Engineer

Job Overview

The Site Civil Engineer position involves overseeing and coordinating daily civil construction tasks at the project location. This role ensures all activities are conducted in accordance with approved blueprints, specifications, quality norms, safety protocols, and timelines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise daily civil site operations.
• Execute construction efforts aligned with approved drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), specifications, and prescribed methods.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.
• Manage tasks including excavation, PCC, RCC, reinforcement installation, shuttering, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, and finishing.
• Verify reinforcement placement, shuttering, concrete works, levels, dimensions, and alignment before execution.
• Ensure efficient use of labor, materials, tools, and machinery.
• Track project progress and aim to complete within scheduled deadlines.
• Prepare daily progress reports, site measurements, material requirements, and work updates.
• Conduct quantity measurements and support BOQ verification, billing, and quantity estimation.
• Collaborate with QA/QC team for inspections and quality assurance.
• Maintain adherence to approved construction methods and ensure quality standards.
• Identify and resolve site issues, discrepancies, and technical challenges promptly.
• Maintain clean and safe site conditions with compliance to health, safety, and environment protocols.
• Keep records of drawings, inspection requests, site instructions, measurements, and other documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, and engineering teams as needed.
• Track material usage to minimize wastage.
• Participate in site meetings to report progress, challenges, and needs.
• Assist in project handover, snag rectification, and completion procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering.
• Relevant experience in civil construction or site execution.
• Understanding of construction drawings, BOQ, measurements, and site operations.
• Strong communication and coordination capabilities.
• Effective site and contractor management skills.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
• Skilled in quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, billing, construction planning, surveying, and leveling.
