Overview
Join a collaborative team with opportunities for career advancement as a Site Agent at GMC Utilities Group. This role involves overseeing construction projects across various settings while ensuring timelines, budgets, safety, and compliance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects in both urban and rural locations.
- Communicate regularly with clients and their representatives to facilitate successful project completion and foster relationships.
- Examine and review construction drawings meticulously, making necessary amendments based on feedback.
- Lead and inspire the onsite team to create a positive leadership atmosphere.
- Coordinate with Contracts Manager and other Site Agents to allocate work and resources effectively.
- Meet customer expectations and maintain their trust and confidence.
- Continuously assess and refine project processes for improvement.
- Adopt innovative technologies to enhance services and streamline project delivery.
- Provide mentorship to designers and identify training opportunities for junior site staff.
- Track site progress ensuring activities are completed within allocated timeframes and budgets.
- Plan and supervise delivery of materials, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure all work complies with client specifications, safety regulations, and relevant legislation.
- Oversee traffic management and enforce health and safety protocols on-site, including conducting safety checks.
- Coordinate with local authorities for inspections of footway conditions before and after installation.
- Collaborate with the workflow department on scheduling and programming work.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, public inquiries, and subcontractors, providing status updates and handling complaints professionally.
- Work alongside clients to maximize infrastructure value.
- Conduct quality control on all works performed.
- Efficiently manage administrative duties related to site activities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Candidate Profile: Experience and Qualifications
- Possession of a full clean driver's license is mandatory.
- Qualification in engineering or an equivalent field is preferred.
- Experience in civils, drainage, or utilities sectors (water and electricity) is required.
- Ability to interpret and read construction designs accurately.
- Commercial awareness regarding project costs.
- Experience managing site activities and coordinating multiple teams.
- Solid understanding of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) requirements.
- Knowledge of ground support systems.
- Proficiency in using computers.
- Self-motivated, confident, able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Capable of working well under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong time management skills to achieve targets.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
- Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality and privacy.
