Job description
Role Overview
The SIS Well Placement Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and dependable products and services. This position engages with operational teams to offer specialized expertise, pinpoint areas for ongoing enhancement in service and product delivery, and clearly communicate those findings. The engineer is also actively involved in advocating for innovative technology and service solutions and assists the Project Lead (PL) in risk management by applying lessons learned to refine job planning and execution. Real-time operational support is also a key component of this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support throughout sales, product development, and service delivery phases within the specialty area.
- Contribute to the creation of technical job designs for Project Leads when needed.
- Identify and recommend new, cost-efficient techniques that can be implemented.
- Investigate and propose opportunities for value-added products and service offerings.
- Work collaboratively with Design and Technical Engineers to enhance technical designs.
- Support incident response, recovery, and investigation in real-time related to the specialty area.
- Help assess the technical feasibility and overall evaluation of tenders in the expertise domain.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies relevant to the field.
- Maintain visibility with customers through active involvement in professional society activities and submission of papers.
- Analyze competing technical offerings to understand the market landscape.
- Engage in external technical societies and community groups to foster professional connections.
- Author and review technical publications contributing to industry knowledge.
- Collaborate with local universities, customer institutions, and research organizations to promote innovation.
