Al-Toga Trading Company is a well-established poultry producer located in Saudi Arabia, actively engaged in farming, production, and distribution operations throughout the Eastern Province.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Shipping & Clearance Officer responsible for managing the complete shipping process from suppliers to final delivery points. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient supply chain operations and ensuring on-time, compliant arrival of goods essential to our production and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with shipping agents, customs clearance agents, freight forwarders, and port authorities to facilitate seamless shipment clearance.
- Monitor shipments from dispatch by suppliers until final destination delivery.
- Provide ongoing status updates on shipments to relevant internal departments.
- Prepare, verify, and ensure accuracy of shipping and customs clearance documentation.
- Manage customs clearance procedures, addressing any documentation or delay challenges.
- Track movement of shipments through ports, customs, warehouses, and transportation until delivery completion.
- Communicate with suppliers, shipping lines, agents, and transporters regarding shipment timings and requirements.
- Ensure all shipments adhere to relevant customs and import regulations.
- Detect and resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, or clearance issues proactively.
- Maintain comprehensive records of shipments, including clearance documents, costs, and delivery statuses.
- Collaborate with internal teams to guarantee shipments arrive within set timelines.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of practical experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or customs clearance.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and customs clearance processes.
- Experience working with shipping agents, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and port authorities.
- Skilled in shipment tracking and follow-up activities.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple shipments concurrently and meet set deadlines.
- Proficient in English; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Saudi ports and customs clearance regulations.
- Experience managing international shipments and interactions with overseas suppliers.
- Understanding of essential shipping documentation such as Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, and customs paperwork.
