Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shift Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic manufacturing team in Telford. This role operates on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotational shift system covering both days and nights. The position involves active, hands-on maintenance efforts to ensure uninterrupted production by keeping equipment functioning optimally and performing lasting repairs and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks across various manufacturing machinery such as conveyors, injection molding machines, extruders, mixers, coolers, laminators, and cutting lines.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and execute effective repairs promptly.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis including methods like 5 Why to prevent recurrent issues.
- Implement durable corrective measures and identify potential areas for process improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using the CMMS software system.
- Update and preserve technical manuals and procedural documentation.
- Identify and report any engineering or operational concerns proactively.
- Support continuous process and equipment improvement efforts across the facility.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team and mentor apprentices and peers to share expertise and knowledge.
- Complete required training to further develop technical capabilities and support professional growth.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a time-served apprenticeship equivalent to Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance or Engineering.
- Holds a valid Current Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Demonstrates strong electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis expertise.
- Exhibits solid mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Has proficient literacy and numeracy skills.
- Comfortable and proficient with computers, mobile technology, and maintenance management systems.
- Communicates effectively and clearly in a team environment.
- Takes a proactive and continuous improvement approach to maintenance work.
