About the Role

Tiaki Wai is seeking a committed and dependable Serviceperson Drainage to assist in maintaining and enhancing the wastewater and stormwater systems across the Wellington region. Key Responsibilities

• Upkeep and repair of drainage and stormwater infrastructure
• Installation, unblocking, and fixing of drainage pipes, mains, valves, and associated connections
• Setting and maintenance of manhole covers and frames
• Operation of CCTV inspection, jetting, and root-cutting machinery
• Handling small plant and machinery, such as excavators, within safe operational parameters
• Quick response to drainage overflows and emergency scenarios
• Participation in standby rotation and on-call duties
• Professional communication with customers and stakeholders
• Ensuring safe work practices and adherence to environmental and quality standards

Candidate Profile

• Reliable individual with a strong work ethic
• Possession of a full Class 1 driving license at minimum, with willingness to obtain WTR and Class 2 licenses
• Experience in civil or construction sectors, with competency in using hand tools, small plant, and machinery
• Comfortable using technology such as iPads or tablets for data entry
• Commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace
• Certifications such as First Aid, Confined Spaces, and Working at Heights are advantageous
• Flexible availability to work overtime and participate in shift/on-call rotations
• Motivated to pursue further education towards Connexis Infrastructure Works qualifications
