Role Overview
Are you passionate about electricity, mechanics, and hydraulics, and eager to play a crucial role in maintaining wind turbines? Join us as a Service Technician contributing actively to the renewable energy transition. This position allows you to utilize your expertise in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fields while working for a global leader in sustainable energy solutions. With comprehensive technical training provided, you will become one of the most proficient technicians in the industry, with safety being a paramount aspect of all daily procedures.
Work Location & Hours
This position is based across various regional locations in Australia and is not a FIFO role; you must reside within the specific region. Locations include:
- Western Australia: Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton
- South Australia: Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier
- Victoria: Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale
- New South Wales: Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes
- Queensland: Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton
- Tasmania: Musselroe, Granville Harbour
Working hours are approximately 8 hours per day, with on-call responsibilities about once every 3-4 weekends. Annual travel is around 50 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to stringent safety and environmental protocols while achieving service objectives
- Conduct routine service inspections and perform repairs including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components according to company specifications
- Ensure optimal turbine operations utilizing condition monitoring and remote control systems
- Maintain service vehicles and warehouses, managing stock levels and ordering necessary parts and tools
- Assemble and service components per standards, occasionally employing cranes when needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Trade certification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic disciplines with a drive for ongoing skill development
- Proficient computer skills, comfortable using various tools and systems for monitoring and documentation
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral
- Valid driver’s license
