About the Role
Join our welcoming team at Spectrum Care as a Service Manager based in Petone, Lower Hutt. This full-time position involves working around 40 hours weekly supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families across Wellington, the Hutt Valley, and Porirua. While primarily office-based, the role offers some flexibility including the possibility of working from home. A company car and fuel card are provided, with personal use permitted.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, and support support workers dedicated to enhancing clients' lives.
- Build strong relationships with disabled individuals and their whānau to tailor services effectively.
- Lead initiatives that enhance both the quality and scope of our service offerings.
- Work mostly standard office hours, with occasional evening appointments and an on-call commitment approximately once every six weeks for a week, compensated at $10 per hour during non-office hours.
- Be available to guide staff over the phone and sometimes provide in-person assistance outside regular hours.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Experience working within health, disability, or social services sectors with a good understanding of intellectual disability and/or mental health support.
- Proven leadership skills in managing teams that deliver exceptional support services.
- Competence in human resource management and budgeting.
- A valid full New Zealand Driver's License is mandatory.
- Ability to stay organized while adapting to the changing demands of the role.
