About Chipotle and the Role
Chipotle Mexican Grill is dedicated to transforming the fast-food experience by serving responsibly sourced quality food with a mission to make better food accessible to all. The Service Leader position plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring safe, high-quality food preparation and service while maintaining a clean, well-equipped line. This role is physically active, requiring the leader to be on their feet during shifts and proactively assist with tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold Chipotle's policies and procedures while ensuring delicious, high-quality food is served.
- Address and resolve any issues related to food quality promptly.
- Support food safety by enforcing proper hand washing, glove changes, monitoring time and temperature, managing shelf lives, and completing the Daily Food Safety Checklist.
- Handle customer incidents with professionalism to maintain positive experiences.
- Oversee crew breaks, shift changes, and meetings, and manage scheduling for line staff.
- Train and develop front-of-house crew members, including cross-training efforts.
- Assist with crew performance evaluations and mentoring future service leaders.
- Perform various administrative duties such as banking, cash handling, and paperwork management.
- Ensure office equipment functions correctly and maintain an adequate supply of office and operational materials.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Understanding and ability to communicate Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy.
- Experience and knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and health department requirements.
- Comfort with office documentation and paperwork.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking the primary local language(s).
- Minimum education: high school diploma.
- Prior restaurant experience required.
- Availability to work at least four days weekly, including at least two weekend days (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday). Open availability means readiness for any eight-hour shift on those days.
- Minimum commitment of 32 working hours per week.
