About the Role
Join Tetra Pak in Hamilton, New Zealand, to contribute to our mission of making food safe and accessible globally, while protecting people and the planet. This role empowers you to develop as a Service Engineer by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical challenges to enhance customer operations, and supporting installation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive maintenance according to global Tetra Pak standards and return equipment to operational status meeting required expectations.
- Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical and automation problems, including hardware, software, and network issues, often supported by Remote Support. Perform root cause analysis to enable lasting fixes and manage technical issues promptly through the QTIM process, escalating as necessary with proper problem-solving methods.
- Disassemble and reassemble capital equipment on customer sites following established Tetra Pak procedures.
- Provide on-site production support and respond to breakdown incidents efficiently.
- Install electromechanical upgrade kits as per standard procedures, ensuring equipment is restored to production readiness.
- Deliver operator training either in person or remotely to enhance customer competence.
- Engage proactively with Strategic Account Managers (S(K)AM) by suggesting ideas and opportunities related to business development with customers.
- Monitor contract operations in collaboration with Service Account Representatives (SAR) and S(K)AM, making informed decisions to optimize contract profitability and performance.
- Advocate for and maintain a safe work environment, strictly adhering to both Tetra Pak and customer safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with Tetra Pak's quality and food safety standards, reporting any safety or regulatory concerns immediately.
- Maintain daily operational contact and strong relationships with assigned customer contacts.
- Complete all required reporting accurately and on time, ensuring effective communication and proper handovers.
- Represent Tetra Pak professionally at all times, fostering positive relationships with customers and colleagues and upholding the company’s reputation.
Experience and Background
- Between one and three years of experience in installations, maintenance, and service roles.
- Proven ability to independently or collaboratively deliver preventive maintenance, troubleshoot industrial systems, perform installations, and execute upgrade projects.
- Relevant previous roles may include Technician, Production Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer.
