Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Service Engineer for an urgent position based in Galway, focused on office technology and print solutions. This on-site role primarily involves servicing a major client location, with additional field work across the Galway region. Both less experienced and seasoned candidates with office machine and/or field service engineering backgrounds will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver on-site technical assistance including installation, maintenance, and repair of copiers and other office equipment.
  • Perform electro-mechanical troubleshooting and IT-related problem solving, showing initiative to independently resolve field issues.
  • Manage toner supplies and parts inventory at client sites, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Regularly collect machine meter readings as part of routine service.
  • Maintain communication with clients and collaborate with the Service and Account Managers to ensure smooth operation of accounts.
  • Provide consistent service that positions the company as the preferred supplier.
  • Spot opportunities to enhance customers' digital imaging solutions and relay sales leads to the internal sales team.
  • Report any client complaints or issues promptly to management.
  • Manage time effectively to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Adhere strictly to company and client Health and Safety regulations at all times.
  • Continuously update technical skills and knowledge to maintain high service standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in servicing office equipment or field service engineering, with technical proficiency in electro-mechanical and IT troubleshooting.
  • Customer-focused attitude, treating each site visit as an opportunity to strengthen client relationships.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions in the field.
  • Valid full driving license as a company van will be provided for travel within the region.
