Job Overview
The role of a Field GPS Installation Engineer involves installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining GPS tracking devices and associated IoT hardware in various vehicles. This position requires on-site visits, troubleshooting, coordination with support teams, and ensuring devices function according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install GPS tracking units in different types of vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, and two-wheelers.
- Connect peripherals including power, ignition, fuel sensors, relay, panic button, door and AC sensors.
- Ensure correct positioning and secure wiring of the GPS devices.
- Configure devices using smartphone applications and SMS commands.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and re-install devices when necessary.
- Respond to breakdown calls and address customer complaints on-site.
- Provide basic usage training to vehicle drivers or customers.
- Maintain inventory and materials assigned for field tasks.
- Collaborate with backend/support teams for device activation and testing.
- Follow company installation standard operating procedures and deadlines.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Educational qualification of ITI or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Automobile fields or equivalent.
- Alternately, 10th or 12th pass with relevant experience can also apply.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of GPS, GSM, and IoT devices.
- Ability to operate smartphone apps and basic software tools.
- Possess good communication and customer service abilities.
- Capable of independent work in the field with good time management and problem-solving skills.
- 0 to 2 years experience in GPS installation or vehicle electronics; fresh graduates with technical background can be trained.
- Must have two-wheeler with a valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel locally, within state, weekends, out-of-state, or for emergency support.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly salary ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹22,000 depending on experience.
- Additional travel allowance, fuel reimbursement, and daily allowance provided.

- Work is strictly on-site in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.
