Sensorial Laboratory Analyst

About the Role

As a Sensorial Laboratory Analyst based in Jeddah, you will play a key role in ensuring the sensorial quality of products and ingredients according to established specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and verify the sensory attributes of finished products and ingredients against defined sensory standards.
• Maintain and update laboratory procedures for sensory analyses.
• Train technical personnel to enhance understanding of sensory evaluation techniques.
• Research and implement new sensory analysis methodologies.
• Conduct sensory assessments related to customer or consumer product complaints.
• Support Quality Assurance (QA), Research & Development (R&D), and Production teams with sensory requirements.
• Manage sensory data and prepare detailed reports.
• Assist QA in designing sensory testing plans and ensure their effective execution.
• Participate in meetings to address and rectify any non-conformance issues.
• Engage in internal and external technical events pertaining to sensory analysis.
• Analyze packaging materials and received ingredients, maintain required certificates, and document pertinent data.
• Perform evaluations of iconic and client products, maintaining comprehensive records.
• Inspect the integrity and functionality of sensory equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D on trial sample evaluations and sensory evaluation of shelf-life samples.
• Develop and maintain an internal sensory panel for finished product assessments.
• Support the R&D Sensory team in developing sensory specifications.
• Adhere to BRF Sustainability Policy and contribute to company ESG objectives through responsible practices.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Diploma in Food Technology, Veterinary Sciences, Biochemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in English at a business communication level.
• Familiarity with sensory evaluation methodologies, Good Laboratory Practices, food microbiology, and biochemistry.
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint.
• Located in or willing to relocate to Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
