Job description
Position Overview
As a Sensitive Technical Operations Planner, you will leverage your expertise in strategic planning to support defense missions focused on safeguarding national security. This role involves integrating Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Technical Operations (STO) into various operational plans and exercises, serving as a key author for Annex S documents, and providing trusted advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply specialized knowledge to incorporate SAP and STO within Command, Contingency, and Theater Campaign Plans as well as theater exercises.
- Produce and author Annex S documentation to support operational planning.
- Analyze and assess complex systems, policies, and processes to ensure the secure integration of SAP and STO capabilities.
- Advise clients and collaborate to develop solutions aligning with Combatant Command warfighting strategies and operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in planning and embedding Special Access Programs into Combatant Command, Service, or related operational plans.
- Familiarity with the Joint Planning Process.
- Proficiency in writing and integrating Annex S documentation into Command Plans.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance and willingness to undergo polygraph testing.
- Education requirement: High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sensitive Technical Operations, or 6+ years of such experience if lacking a degree.
Preferred Skills and Credentials
- Understanding of SAP, ACCM, Sensitive Activities protocols, and associated security standards and systems.
- Capability to facilitate high-level meetings and working groups effectively.
- Experience briefing senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of Sensitive Technical Operations experience, or 5+ years without a degree.
- Completion of STO planner and PDAS user courses is advantageous.
Security Requirements
Candidates must pass a security investigation and meet eligibility criteria for classified information access, holding a TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual compensation range is estimated between USD 86,800 and USD 198,000. Eligibility for benefits applies to employees working at least 20 hours weekly.
