Senior/Associate Structural Engineer

As a Senior or Associate Structural Engineer, you will work under the Structures Manager and receive support from the National Engineering Manager. This role offers the opportunity to exercise leadership and support the development of structural engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, innovative structural designs and documentation for complex buildings, including high-rise, educational, retail, healthcare, industrial, and sporting facilities.
• Lead and manage projects from initial concept through to construction, ensuring they remain within budget and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, project managers, builders, developers, and other stakeholders across disciplines.
• Promote and maintain a client-focused approach within the team, emphasizing responsiveness, timely delivery, and professionalism.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to expanding the structural team and the client portfolio.
• Ensure all designs comply with Australian standards and are technically precise, cost-effective, and optimal.
• Participate in innovative and technical improvement initiatives and design innovations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 years of significant experience working with large-scale commercial building structures.
• Chartered professional engineer status and NER (National Engineering Register) registration as a minimum; Class 2 DB&P accreditation preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, including mentoring junior staff.
• A naturally inquisitive mindset focused on innovative problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Comprehensive expertise with Australian standards and building code interpretation and application.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of quickly establishing rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
• A motivated and determined approach conducive to thriving in a learning and development setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering software such as ETABS, Ram Concept, RAPT, and Spacegass.
