Senior Well Intervention Engineer

Job Overview

This role is dedicated to ensuring safe, efficient, and technically sound well intervention operations for North Oil Company, overseeing more than 100 slick line operations and 30 coiled tubing or electric line procedures annually. The engineer will support production optimization across approximately 400 active wells spread over 15 platforms, managing a significant budget and equipment stock.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and coordinate well intervention programs to maximize production and injection safely and cost-effectively.
• Provide technical assistance in well intervention and completion operations, supporting drilling activities through procurement and tendering processes.
• Ensure strict compliance with company's HSE policies and Local golden rules to maintain incident-free operations.
• Manage communication and engagement with cross-functional teams including Petroleum Engineering, Production, Well Intervention, and contractors.
• Schedule and organize necessary equipment and materials, monitor offshore reports including Non-Productive Time (NPT), and document operational outcomes and lessons learnt.
• Support contractor evaluations, oversee contract management, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including GHG reduction and energy efficiency campaigns.
• Perform occasional site visits to field, logistics, and service provider locations to support operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• IWCF Level 4 certification is required.
• At least 15 years of oilfield experience with a minimum of 3 years offshore exposure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of well intervention equipment, including slick line, coiled tubing, pumping and treatment technologies, as well as completion and workover equipment.
• Strong operational autonomy and experience with equipment requests and mobilization processes.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions

This position requires primary location presence at the NOC Well Intervention offices in Doha, with periodic site visits to the Al Shaheen field and other operational bases.
