Role Overview
The CrowdStrike Intelligence Advanced Research Team (ART) is inviting a skilled security researcher to deepen the organization's expertise in vulnerability discovery and analysis. This position involves long-term investigative projects, quick-response problem solving, and broad collaboration within the intelligence community. The role focuses on advancing knowledge of cybersecurity threats through research, tool development, and threat data collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Create automated systems to efficiently gather, process, and analyze massive datasets, including vendor patch inspections and detection of threat exploits and malicious infrastructures.
- Conduct in-depth vulnerability research such as assessing vendor patch releases, generating exploit proof-of-concepts, and validating exploit activity in malware or logs to ascertain root causes.
- Discover new security vulnerabilities across various applications and products.
- Work closely with other intelligence units and external partners to verify emerging vulnerabilities, disseminate actionable insights, meet distinct technical requirements, and share findings publicly through blogs and conferences.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient English communication, both orally and in writing.
- At least 4 years of practical experience in information security with an emphasis on vulnerability research and exploit development.
- Expertise in reverse engineering and deep familiarity with Windows and Linux OS internals.
- Strong software development skills, with Python as a preferred language.
- Ability to use Generative AI and large language models (LLMs) effectively to assist in software solutions and vulnerability research.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-driven work ethic with a customer-focused approach and capability to collaborate remotely.
- Demonstrated use of AI technologies to enhance decision-making and streamline operations.
Preferred Experience and Bonus Skills
- Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions.
- Familiarity with mobile operating systems such as Android and iOS.
- Knowledge of macOS security.
- Programming experience in Go or Rust.
- Background in threat intelligence.
Educational Background
A Master’s degree (M.A. or M.Sc.) or comparable professional experience in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline is expected.
