Job Overview

We seek an accomplished Urban Planner with at least 12 years of hands-on experience in urban and statutory planning focused on large-scale projects. This role is based in Visakhapatnam and requires full-time onsite presence. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in crafting and executing comprehensive Master Plans, Development Plans, Town Planning Schemes, and Local Area Plans. The planner will lead complex planning assignments for cities with populations above one million and areas exceeding 500 hectares, with critical experience in land pooling and land readjustment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of Master Plans, Development Plans, Town Planning Schemes, Local Area Plans, and other statutory planning initiatives.
• Develop spatial development frameworks that cover infrastructure planning, mixed-use development approaches, and urban interventions at the city level.
• Prepare, evaluate, and refine spatial frameworks and planning methodologies to guide urban growth.
• Drive land use and infrastructure planning activities as well as urban development proposals.
• Offer specialist knowledge in land pooling, land readjustment, and scheme implementation.
• Ensure strict adherence to statutory norms, planning criteria, and development controls.
• Maintain coordination with government bodies, municipal authorities, and development agencies.
• Manage client communications and act as the main liaison for project mediation.
• Organize and lead stakeholder meetings, workshops, and community engagement processes.
• Oversee collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including technical consultants and experts.
• Review and supervise the production of comprehensive reports, maps, plans, and mandatory documentation.
• Present technical reports and recommendations effectively to clients and public stakeholders.
• Track project timelines, ensure quality benchmarks, and guarantee punctual project deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or Urban Design.
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline is required.
• At least 12 years of professional experience in urban planning with a focus on large-scale statutory projects.
• Must be willing and able to work full-time onsite in Visakhapatnam.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong analytical capabilities.
• Experience working with GIS-supported master planning tools and techniques.
