Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing quotations, renewal notifications, documenting loss histories, and issuing insurance policies.
- Leading the growth of non-marine general underwriting to maintain a balanced and profitable portfolio by implementing established underwriting best practices.
- Conducting risk evaluation, technical assessments, pricing strategies, and underwriting for Property and General Accident (GA) insurance lines.
- Monitoring and enhancing the underwriting portfolio by updating processes, rules, and guidelines to optimize profitability.
- Managing business portfolio analysis for renewals and reassessment of reinsurance retention.
- Supervising Risk Control initiatives to ensure risks are effectively managed and minimized.
- Developing, applying, and updating pricing models and underwriting tools for accurate and efficient underwriting procedures.
- Calculating premiums accurately by utilizing actuarial data, statistical information, and informed judgment.
- Supporting risk placement with the reinsurance market when exposures exceed the company’s capacity and managing communications with business partners.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related discipline.
- Six to eight years of professional experience in underwriting or related fields.
