Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist

Role Overview

This position reports to the UK Talent Acquisition Manager and requires presence in the Maidenhead office three core days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The ideal candidate is a commercially aware and inquisitive recruiter who proactively engages with the business, develops strong stakeholder partnerships, and thinks ahead to anticipate talent needs before requisitions arise.

Primary Duties

• Establish trusted relationships with hiring managers and business leaders, offering expert guidance and constructive challenge throughout recruitment cycles.
• Develop and implement proactive talent attraction and sourcing plans that align with both current and future organizational priorities.
• Utilize market data, competitor insights, and talent mapping to influence hiring strategies and workforce planning.
• Identify, engage, and cultivate diverse talent pools, especially for critical and challenging positions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the talent market, providing insights on hiring trends, skill availability, and competitor activities.
• Ensure an outstanding candidate experience that reflects AbbVie’s values and employer brand at every stage.
• Encourage stakeholders to make prompt, data-informed hiring decisions balancing speed, quality, and diversity.
• Lead complex and specialized recruitment projects with multiple priorities, aiming to meet ambitious hiring targets.
• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance recruitment processes, challenge conventional practices, and introduce innovative hiring solutions.
• Collaborate closely with HR and business leadership to support organizational growth, capability development, and strategic talent planning.
• Advocate for inclusive hiring practices supporting AbbVie’s commitment to diversity and belonging.
• Leverage recruitment analytics and data to detect trends, track success metrics, and suggest improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Highly proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership for delivering recruitment results.
• Ability to build credibility and confidence when partnering with hiring managers and senior leaders.
• Skilled in applying market intelligence, data, and insights to influence hiring decisions effectively.
• Inquisitive nature to deeply understand the underlying challenges of hiring briefs.
• Extensive background in talent sourcing and mapping, alongside active recruitment management.
• Prior experience recruiting in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or other specialist sectors is preferred.
