Overview

Join Fidelity Investments as a Senior Systems Analyst within the Equity Trading Technology team, supporting the common trading platform utilized across various asset classes in the Asset Management division. This role is centered in Galway, Ireland, offering the opportunity to impact a high-profile, business-critical product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze both existing and emerging business and technical processes relevant to equity and credit market operations.
  • Identify system interfaces, internal dependencies, and document process and system workflows comprehensively.
  • Translate business requirements into precise and clear technical specifications to guide development efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology teams to sequence work and assess system impacts systematically.
  • Reverse-engineer current applications to support enhancement and creation of new trading platform capabilities.
  • Contribute thought leadership by sharing technical expertise and mentoring fellow Systems Analysts within an Agile development environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Over four years of experience working on business-critical software applications, preferably with exposure to Asset Management or investment professional tools.
  • General knowledge or strong interest in financial markets, specifically equity and credit sectors.
  • Experience with relational databases, such as Oracle, and proficiency with service-based application tiers.
  • Skilled in SQL, API design, validation, and REST API technologies.
  • Expertise in drafting detailed test cases with well-aligned acceptance criteria ensuring focus on real business value.
  • Data-oriented approach to problem-solving including measuring and utilizing data effectively while balancing intuition.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze end-to-end processes with various analytical tools and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
  • Awareness and understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS, including migration strategies and related tooling.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity by being adaptable and flexible in dynamic environments.
