Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our dynamic Melbourne team, reporting to the Melbourne Survey Manager. This role demands precise execution of surveying responsibilities on built-form construction projects including set out, verification, as-built recording, and survey data documentation to aid engineering and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct calculations, setting out, as-built documentation, and verification for structural components, gridlines, and utilities on built-form developments.
  • Generate accurate plans, measurements, calculations, and detailed reports to assist engineering and construction teams.
  • Manage and operate survey equipment, related software, and data management platforms such as Leica, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Utilize surveying instruments like total stations, GPS units, and theodolites to measure angles, distances, and elevations precisely.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior survey staff, promoting ongoing learning and professional development aligned with company objectives.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Possess a university degree or TAFE Diploma in Surveying.
  • Have at least 3 years' hands-on experience in construction surveying, specifically within high-rise or built-form projects.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of surveying instruments and software, including 12d software, AutoCAD, and Leica Survey equipment.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and White Card.
  • Experience effectively communicating with clients and understanding their project requirements.
  • Exhibit strong multitasking abilities and capability to work independently.

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must clear pre-employment background checks and drug screening, with the possibility of periodic drug testing according to company policies.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in major infrastructure, civil, or commercial construction projects within Australia is advantageous.
