Role Overview
This senior-level position invites experienced professionals passionate about linker internals and embedded system constraints to join Qualcomm in advancing and optimizing an open-source embedded linker. The role involves collaboration for building robust high-performance toolchains and contributing to the global open-source community.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and fine-tune the Qualcomm open-source linker targeting embedded platforms.
- Work closely with compiler and runtime teams to ensure the delivery of a reliable and performant toolchain.
- Engage actively with open-source projects and participate in the global developer ecosystem.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of linker components including ELF files, relocation processes, symbol versioning, and memory mapping.
- Good grasp of embedded system limitations such as constrained memory and performance-sensitive environments.
- Hands-on experience in toolchain development encompassing linkers, loaders, and compilers.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
- Familiarity with open-source development workflows like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bonus: Experience with Hexagon architecture or equivalent DSP/embedded technology platforms.
Preferred Experience
Ideal candidates will have between eight to ten years of professional experience, preferably meeting or exceeding these qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline plus at least four years of experience in systems engineering or a similar field.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Or a PhD with at least two years of pertinent experience in systems engineering.
