Role Overview
We seek a Senior Staff Engineer to spearhead the creation of cutting-edge audio and video products by integrating advanced signal processing, machine intelligence, and embedded software engineering. This position involves the full spectrum of development, from initial research and prototyping through software implementation, testing, and customer support. You will work on licensable technologies that reach consumers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype innovative audio and video experiences.
- Utilize classical digital signal processing and machine learning methods to address practical challenges.
- Transform research concepts into deployed solutions on consumer hardware.
- Write efficient, portable C/C++ code targeting embedded platforms.
- Lead architectural design efforts, conduct design reviews, and make technical decisions.
- Employ AI-driven development tools to boost creativity and efficiency.
- Manage complex engineering initiatives and shape technical frameworks.
- Guide engineering teams and serve as Dolby's representative with clients and collaborators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in digital signal processing, embedded systems, and real-time software engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of DSP fundamentals such as filtering, transforms, beamforming, noise suppression, and nonlinear processing techniques.
- Proven ability in building and deploying machine learning models on edge computing devices.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and a solid grasp of processor architectures.
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering intricate technical projects and production-quality software.
- Experience utilizing generative AI tools to enhance engineering productivity.
