Role Overview

As a Senior Solutions Architect situated in Singapore, reporting to the Asia Solutions Architect Manager, you will act as a trusted consultant for prospects, clients, and partners within the region. Your mission is to demonstrate how GitLab's AI-enhanced DevSecOps platform can address both technical specifications and commercial goals throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will facilitate clients’ digital transformation journeys by leveraging your expertise in AI, cloud environments, and contemporary software engineering practices. Working collaboratively with internal sales and cross-functional teams, you will manage technical evaluations, lead proofs of value, design workshops, and advocate customer feedback to product teams. Your efforts will influence adoption, foster revenue growth, and promote GitLab's unique AI-driven market position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery processes and product demonstrations that align GitLab’s DevSecOps platform capabilities with client needs.
• Manage detailed technical evaluations including solutions design, proofs of concept/value, tender contributions, and workshop facilitation.
• Work closely with Account Executives and sales teams across Asia to develop and execute account strategies targeting customer acquisition and growth.
• Develop deep relationships with technical stakeholders and business leaders, guiding them towards successful adoption and advocacy of GitLab solutions.
• Provide expert guidance on modern software development methodologies, continuous integration and deployment workflows, security practices, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Represent customer interests to internal teams by sharing insights and feedback to shape product development and market positioning.
• Continuously enhance your technical expertise in GitLab’s platform, DevSecOps, AI, and associated cloud technologies by generating best practices and reusable resources.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through learning, mentoring, and sharing knowledge within the Solutions Architect team.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in customer-facing, technical pre-sales or consultancy roles, with capabilities to steer clients through solution design and evaluation.
• Deep understanding of the entire software lifecycle, emphasizing modern DevSecOps, continuous integration/deployment, and practical applications of generative and agentic AI in software delivery.
• Hands-on knowledge of GitLab or similar platforms for source control, CI/CD, and collaborative workflows.
• Strong grasp of cloud computing concepts, deployment architectures, security concerns, and operational insights.
• Proven ability to lead technical evaluations such as proofs of concept, tender responses, audits, and structured workshops.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills tailored to both technical experts and senior decision-makers.
• Fluent proficiency in Mandarin is essential due to customer engagements primarily in Singapore and Taiwan.
• Demonstrated aptitude for relationship-building, empathetic listening, and advocacy for customer needs within internal teams.
• A proactive approach to self-driven professional development and continuous technological learning.

The Solutions Architect team, embedded within GitLab’s Sales organization, functions as a technical partner to Account Executives across Asia. They enable clients to fully leverage GitLab’s AI-augmented DevSecOps capabilities by advising on architecture, conducting technical evaluations, and facilitating digital transformation. Collaboration is cross-functional and asynchronous across regions, focusing on modernizing software delivery amidst evolving technologies.
