Role Overview

As a Senior Solutions Architect based in Singapore reporting to the Asia Solutions Architect Manager, you will serve as a trusted consultant to prospects, clients, and partners throughout Asia. Your role is to articulate how GitLab's AI-enhanced DevSecOps platform fulfills both technical and business needs across the software development lifecycle.

You will assist organizations in navigating their digital transformation journeys—from strategic planning through ongoing monitoring—leveraging your expertise in AI, cloud technologies, contemporary software development practices, and a strong customer-centric approach.

Collaborating closely with internal teams such as Account Executives and cross-functional groups, you will lead technical assessments including proofs of value, workshops, and solution architecture design. Your insights will help shape product development and build lasting customer partnerships, promoting GitLab's distinction in the competitive AI-driven DevSecOps market.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery sessions, demonstrations, and validations to demonstrate how GitLab’s AI-oriented DevSecOps platform meets diverse customer needs throughout the software lifecycle.
• Own the technical evaluation process by designing solutions, managing proofs of concept or value, developing workshops, and addressing aspects of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments.
• Partner with Account Executives and go-to-market teams across Asia to develop and execute customer acquisition and expansion strategies.
• Establish and nurture relationships with technical and business stakeholders, guiding them through GitLab-driven transformation and enabling advocacy.
• Advise on modern software development methodologies, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud best practices to improve ROI by challenging traditional methods.
• Act as the customer’s voice internally by providing feedback, use cases, and competitive analysis to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Maintain and expand technical knowledge of GitLab, DevSecOps, AI, and cloud technologies by producing reusable technical materials and best-practice resources.
• Commit to continuous professional growth through learning, mentoring, and sharing expertise to enhance team impact.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proven background in customer-facing technical pre-sales, consulting, or similar roles guiding solution design and evaluation.
• Comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, particularly modern DevSecOps practices, CI/CD workflows, and application of generative or agentic AI in software delivery.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab or equivalent source control, continuous integration/deployment, and collaboration systems, able to translate platform features to meet client scenarios.
• Solid knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals and technologies, capable of discussing deployment, security, and operations with technical teams.
• Competence in orchestrating technical evaluations, including proofs of concept/value, contributing to tenders/audits, and designing/running workshops or value stream assessments.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills adaptable for technical professionals and senior business and technical leaders.
• Fluent Mandarin is mandatory, enabling confident engagement with stakeholders from C-suite executives to end users across primarily Singapore and Taiwan markets.
• Strong skills in building trusted client relationships, empathetic listening, and advocacy within internal teams like Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for ongoing professional development, embracing new technologies, deepening GitLab expertise, and leveraging cross-domain experiences.

Team Context

The Solutions Architect team operates within GitLab’s Sales division, providing technical leadership and support to Account Executives on opportunities throughout Asia. The team facilitates customer adoption and value realization of GitLab's AI-infused DevSecOps platform by delivering architecture guidance, managing technical evaluations, and supporting digital transformation initiatives. Collaboration across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams happens globally and asynchronously, focusing on best practices, reusable technical resources, and customer advocacy. The team’s mission is to help customers modernize software delivery at scale while navigating an evolving AI and DevSecOps environment.
