Senior Solution Architect - Banking

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution Architect to join our Architecture team, focusing on Digital Products and Corporate Assisted Banking initiatives. This role involves collaborating closely with the Head of Architecture, Delivery Heads, business stakeholders, technology groups, and internal departments, including subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise paired with a strong solution-oriented approach, capable of designing secure, resilient, scalable, and high-performance architectures. Prior experience in banking and financial services, particularly in accounting, payments, lending, credit products, and preferably corporate banking, is crucial. Expertise in microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, message brokers, cloud-native infrastructure, and modern application design is also essential.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to architecture and solution design for complex enterprise applications within Digital Products and Corporate Assisted Banking.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions that prioritize scalability, security, reliability, resilience, and performance.
• Develop comprehensive solution designs, high-level architecture documentation, design patterns, and technical frameworks spanning backend, frontend, APIs, mobile applications, microservices, message brokers, and event streaming platforms.
• Participate in or lead architecture efforts across multiple projects to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
• Design within microservices and API-driven ecosystems.
• Define, analyze, and communicate architectural principles, design patterns, benefits, limitations, trade-offs, and appropriateness for business needs.
• Create and uphold architecture standards, guidelines, patterns, and best practices.
• Collaborate extensively with internal technology, business stakeholders, delivery teams, and subsidiaries to ensure aligned solution design and execution.
• Balance functional needs with excellent customer/user experience, performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Offer technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout solution lifecycle stages, from requirements to implementation and delivery.
• Facilitate technical decision-making and provide recommendations on complex challenges.
• Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity and information security requirements.
• Support Agile delivery teams by engaging in architectural activities during the Agile process.
• Enforce architecture governance to guarantee adherence to standards and best practices.
• Exemplify strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management throughout complex technology projects.
• Continuously update knowledge on emerging technologies, banking industry changes, and evolving domain requirements.

Technical and Architectural Competencies

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience creating end-to-end solution designs, high-level designs, technical architectures, and applying design patterns.
• Proficiency designing applications spanning backend, frontend, mobile, APIs, microservices, message brokers, and event streaming.
• Strong familiarity with container-based and cloud-native infrastructures and their ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture and distributed systems.
• Expertise in architectural design principles, patterns, and evaluation of alternatives considering their trade-offs and impacts.
• Solid experience architecting microservices and API ecosystems focusing on secure, scalable, reliable, and resilient services.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, using message brokers and event streaming technologies for asynchronous communication.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectural principles and building solutions optimized for scalability, availability, resiliency, and performance in distributed environments.
• Competent in integrating cybersecurity and information security requirements into architecture and solution design.
• Practical experience with Agile methodologies, including team structures such as tribes and squads, Agile ceremonies (quarterly/sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives), and deliverables like features, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Required Experience

• Strong background in Solution Architecture or Technical Architecture roles.
• At least 5 years of comprehensive experience with architecture design and implementation in banking/financial sector projects.
• Proven record leading or participating in multiple projects involving resilient, reliable, secure application architectures.
• Hands-on experience across backend, frontend, APIs, mobile, message brokers, and event streaming components.
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure and containerized deployments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
