Job Overview
We seek a hands-on Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java backend development with a focus on application security, access control, and secure API engineering. The role involves working on enterprise-grade platforms where secure data access, authentication, authorization, data protection, and governance are paramount.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Develop backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with secure authentication and authorization standards.
- Implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT protocols to secure APIs and manage access control effectively.
- Apply role-based access control (RBAC) mechanisms and API security best practices.
- Ensure secure application development focusing on data handling through SQL and version control with Git.
- Leverage strong fundamentals of software engineering in developing robust security features.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
- Expertise or familiarity with data governance, privacy, metadata management, and data quality principles.
- Experience with secure data sharing protocols and Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
- Knowledge of API gateway security, static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST).
- Experience using security tools such as SonarQube, Veracode, Checkmarx.
- Understanding of PCI compliance and financial services security standards.
- Familiarity with cloud security services on AWS and Azure platforms.
