As Senior Software Quality Engineer in the space domain, you will ensure that complex software solutions meet the highest criteria of quality, safety, and development standards. You will scrutinize software code, architectures, documentation, and development workflows, collaborating closely with software developers, system engineers, and project teams. Your efforts will help identify quality risks early, verify deliverables thoroughly, and sustainably maintain software quality in challenging space projects.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate software code and architecture for quality, traceability, and compliance with standards.
- Perform software quality audits to verify adherence to procedures.
- Ensure compliance with established development, quality, and safety standards.
- Analyze software documentation, development processes, and quality-related evidences.
- Verify requirements traceability and confirm complete, verifiable implementation of requirements.
- Support activities such as software reviews, quality gates, and other critical project milestones.
- Identify quality risks, deviations, and potential areas for improvement.
- Develop and monitor appropriate measures to enhance software quality.
- Collaborate effectively with software developers, system engineers, and project teams.
- Ensure conformity with applicable aerospace and space industry standards.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in software quality assurance, software verification or a related function.
- Proficiency in conducting code reviews, managing software quality processes, and assessing software development artifacts.
- Solid understanding of software development workflows and lifecycle models.
- Experience working with safety-critical software applications.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, documentation, and traceability in complex software development projects.
- Fluent English skills and good command of German.
