Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Integrations Team, focusing on embedding Elastic within the evolving AI ecosystem. As AI agents and assistants become central to developers' workflows, your role is to make Elastic easily discoverable, connectable, and usable across these platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the Elastic MCP server and its supporting infrastructure, with primary coding in Go.
• Create and maintain a platform for universal agent skills, including formats, authoring, publishing tools, and linting processes to ensure seamless deployment across agents.
• Establish quality assurance standards by validating functionality through evaluations rather than assumptions.
• Design and implement integrations that embed Elastic into third-party AI ecosystems, collaborating closely with product teams and external partners.
• Contribute enhancements to the Elastic CLI tool to improve developer workflows and agent efficiency.
• Develop and maintain libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack using languages such as Go and Rust.
• Apply product-oriented thinking to prioritize and justify feature development based on ecosystem needs.

Candidate Profile

• Over 8 years of backend software engineering experience in systems, services, or libraries.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and understanding of large language models, agents, agent skills, and protocols like MCP; commitment to validation via evaluations.
• Strong proficiency in Go, with additional programming language experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful API design.
• Adaptability to read and contribute to unfamiliar codebases and willingness to learn new programming languages.
• Awareness of software engineering best practices.
• Product-focused mindset with strong opinions on impactful features.
• Commitment to usability and enhancing the developer experience.
• Comfortable working in fast-changing environments that require switching context frequently.
• Passionate about technology with an enthusiasm for exploring various programming languages.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including engaging with customers and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive as a member of a globally distributed remote team.
• Self-driven, clear-thinking, and capable of independent work and continuous learning.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience building or operating infrastructure and interest in telemetry and observability.
• Active participation in technical communities through open source projects, blogging, or speaking engagements.
• Experience collaborating with third-party or partner engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Elastic’s product portfolio.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive base salary between €87,300 and €138,100 EUR annually, without a variable pay component. Final offers will reflect experience, skill level, and role complexity.
