Role Overview

The Senior Software Engineer focused on infrastructure will operate at the intersection of product software and infrastructure management. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining data-heavy APIs that support customer-specific AI environments on Azure VMs running containerized workloads. This role involves engineering the systems for messaging queues, virtual machine lifecycle management, container upgrades, and secure, zero-downtime migrations, among other infrastructure-related functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine systems managing provisioning, updating, securing, and monitoring AI agent environments.
• Create abstractions for messaging queues, locking mechanisms, background jobs, and service bus operations, enabling product teams to build reliable features on these foundational components.
• Enhance infrastructure-as-code implementations using Pulumi, establishing scalable patterns for engineering use.
• Manage Linux systems components including storage, container boundaries, permissions, logging, and debugging during runtime.
• Collaborate within a small, high-accountability, cross-functional team operating on weekly development cycles.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum six years of software engineering experience, with substantial focus on infrastructure.
• Proven backend development skills, preferably in TypeScript and Node.js, though a quick learning aptitude for the specified stack is valued.
• Strong practical experience with cloud environments, especially Azure; AWS or GCP experience is also pertinent if fundamentals are solid.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Pulumi; knowledge of Terraform or CDK is advantageous.
• Hands-on container experience, particularly Docker; familiarity with orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Nomad is a plus but not mandatory.
• Expertise in creating dependable systems handling background processing, queues, locks, retries, migrations, and fault tolerance.
• A keen security mindset focused on runtime application environments.
