About the Role
Join Bloomberg in Dublin as part of the Engineering and CTO team responsible for powering Enterprise Data offerings. These products ensure clients receive timely and accurate data to support their operational and research processes within financial services. The team builds robust technology supply chains that source, model, link, and deliver massive datasets, enabling data science capabilities by onboarding new data quickly and transparently.
The primary product you'll work on is Data License Plus (DL+), a comprehensive managed service that consolidates and organizes licensed data into a unified model ready for immediate use. DL+ also delivers updated licensed content in easily consumable formats directly to cloud platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, AWS RedShift, and Google GCP, ensuring consistency, quality, and control.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from gathering business requirements through coding, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Lead the design and development of innovative product features from concept to production deployment.
- Engage with emerging technologies to enhance and evolve the core platform.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in software engineering within production environments.
- Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages, particularly Java or Python.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems architecture.
- Familiarity with modern design patterns and their practical application.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing APIs within a microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or Postgres and NoSQL databases like ElasticSearch.
- Working familiarity with big data file formats such as Avro or Parquet, and data lake technologies like Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
- Experience with messaging and streaming platforms like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Interest in full-stack development including frontend enhancements, microservice design, and database modeling.
- Ability and eagerness to adapt quickly and master new technologies.

The current microservices ecosystem incorporates Java, Python, SpringBoot, Oracle, Postgres, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Kafka, ValKey, Zookeeper, Spark, among other leading technologies.
