Role Summary
We invite you to join our engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in compiler technologies. This role involves applying advanced compiler theory to develop and enhance our proprietary Kasada Virtual Machine and associated compiler software. You will innovate with novel obfuscation techniques using custom languages and VMs to outsmart attackers and strengthen cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the Kasada Virtual Machine to improve bot defense capabilities.
- Enhance and optimize various phases of the compiler toolchain.
- Transform experimental security research prototypes into effective, scalable defenses.
- Partner cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to advance research efforts.
- Participate actively in architectural discussions focused on building high-performing, robust solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of three years in a senior software engineering role.
- Solid understanding of compiler architecture and practical compiler development experience.
- Proficient working with Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs).
- Experience coding in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Capable of explaining complex technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and readiness to investigate unfamiliar technical domains.
- Experience writing user-facing tests to validate software behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with web browser technologies, including legacy compatibility concerns.
- Background in cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Hands-on involvement with client-side testing frameworks.
- Experience with Babel transpiler technologies.
- Virtual Machine development or usage experience.
Technical Environment
- Node.js runtime environment.
- TypeScript and JavaScript programming languages.
- JavaScript Virtual Machines underpinnings.
- Buildkite CI/CD platform.
- AWS cloud infrastructure services.
- Containerization technologies such as Docker.
