Role Summary

As part of the FundsCore Recon Platform team, you will be integral to developing a reliable platform tackling complex challenges within the Payments domain, especially focusing on accurate financial partner reconciliation. This role requires proficiency or quick adaptability in the Payments sector.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and sustain high-quality, scalable backend software applications catering to both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Produce clean, efficient, well-tested, and maintainable code addressing challenges in the fintech environment.
• Engage collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to define, design, and roll out new features.
• Conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards, maintain technical documentation, and promote shared knowledge.
• Troubleshoot intricate system issues, delivering fixes alongside durable solutions.
• Influence architectural decisions and guide project technical direction.
• Maintain system reliability and availability via observability best practices and actively partake in on-call rotations.
• Support DevOps activities to ensure optimal system performance and health.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns fostering continuous learning and skill development.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and leverage generative AI tools to boost productivity and system capabilities.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
• Competence in managing not only ideal scenarios but also handling edge cases and error conditions effectively.
• Over 4 years of relevant software development experience with expertise in major programming languages including Golang (preferred) or Java, or ability to rapidly acquire new technical proficiencies.
• Experience with clean architectural principles, data-driven application design, and processing large-scale data sets.
• Proven track record designing distributed systems using database management systems, caching, NoSQL databases, and application servers such as RESTful and gRPC, ensuring data consistency.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, cloud platforms—Amazon Web Services preferred—and DevOps practices.
• Experience ensuring operational and compliance standards are met, including observability, SLA adherence, security, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to write extensible, efficient, and thoroughly tested code applying SOLID principles and selecting appropriate abstractions.
• Skilled in producing effective design documentation and maintaining current technical guides like runbooks.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies and domains, including applying Generative AI to improve productivity.
• Experience working within the Payments sector, particularly in settlement and reconciliation processes.
