About the Role
Join Databricks as a Senior Software Engineer on the AI OSS Ecosystem Team where you will help design, build, and maintain open-source AI and machine learning platforms. Your efforts will empower users to train, deploy, and monitor models and next-generation AI agents at scale. You will collaborate with the global AI/ML community to contribute to projects and advance operational AI (AIOps) capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement platform features that enable the full AI/ML lifecycle including training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring of models and AI agents.
- Integrate the platform with diverse AI/ML ecosystem tools and frameworks.
- Work closely with AI/ML community members worldwide to push forward AIOps innovations.
- Ensure the latest AI/ML tooling is accessible to Databricks customers, maximizing their data-driven value.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers through project planning, decision making, and code reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience developing production-grade systems using languages such as Python (preferred), Scala, or Java.
- Proven track record building and supporting AI/ML software tools and frameworks, ideally in open-source settings.
- Knowledgeable in AI/ML and AIOps concepts, specifically in model training, deployment, and monitoring workflows.
- Preferred: Strong familiarity with agent frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy or related projects.
- Preferred: Notable contributions to open-source AI/ML projects such as SparkML, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MLflow.
