Senior Security Engineer

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to play a crucial role in safeguarding Beca's information assets and technological platforms while aiding our ongoing digital transformation initiatives. As part of our Technology team, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, and platform owners to integrate security best practices across enterprise systems, cloud environments, applications, data platforms, and emerging AI-driven technologies.

This role demands strong collaboration as you provide expert advice, influence security strategies, and support teams in making well-informed decisions that balance risk, security, and business priorities. Your contributions will span security architecture reviews, threat modeling, security assurance processes, incident response, and developing security standards, patterns, and controls for organization-wide implementation.

Operating mainly within a Microsoft technology environment, you’ll have the chance to influence security protocols across a large, multifaceted organization while staying updated on evolving technologies, cyber threats, and security frameworks. You may also contribute to enhancing Beca's AI security and governance initiatives as we continue to innovate and modernize.

You are an accomplished security expert who combines solid technical skills with the ability to build trust and positively influence security outcomes across a diverse organization. You thrive on tackling complex challenges, rapidly adapt to new technologies, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You'll Bring

• Extensive experience in security engineering, cybersecurity, cloud security, or infrastructure security within medium to large-scale environments.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft security technologies and contemporary security practices covering cloud services, applications, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with threat modeling, risk assessments, security evaluations, and deploying robust security controls.
• Familiarity with established security and governance frameworks, including ISO 27001 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Proven track record supporting incident response, conducting investigations, performing remediation, and driving continuous security enhancements.
• Capability to collaborate with engineering and technology teams to embed security within development processes and operational settings.
• Strong communication skills that enable clear explanation of security concepts, influence over decision-making, and credibility building with stakeholders.
• A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset, coupled with a passion for ongoing learning and anticipation of emerging threats and technologies.
