Instructor / Assistant Professor - Information Security Engineering Technology

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate-level courses encompassing cybersecurity, information security, networking, software security, programming, and related computer science topics.
• Create and facilitate practical, experiential learning such as labs, projects, simulations, case studies, and industry engagement activities.
• Continuously refine course content, assessments, lab facilities, and technical educational materials.
• Oversee student-led capstone, applied research, and industry-focused technical projects.
• Contribute to professional cybersecurity training programs targeting government and corporate partners.
• Engage in applied research projects, scholarly publications, securing grants, and collaborative industry research initiatives.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with industry and government bodies to boost student experiences, applied research, training ventures, and employability prospects.
• Support curriculum design, accreditation compliance (ABET, CAA), quality assurance, and ongoing program enhancements driven by outcome-based education principles.
• Participate in innovation programs, student competitions, professional certification efforts, and various departmental tasks.
• Engage actively in academic responsibilities including mentoring, advising, committee service, and other division-assigned duties.

Qualifications and Experience

• Assistant Professor: PhD in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or an allied discipline from a globally recognized institution.
• Instructor: Master’s degree in the same fields from a recognized university, supplemented with relevant academic or industry experience.
• Degree credential equivalency approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) if obtained internationally.
• Proven teaching experience in higher education, technical training, lab-centric education, or professional cybersecurity instruction.
• Strong applied knowledge and hands-on proficiency with cybersecurity tools, technologies, and platforms.
• Demonstrated involvement in applied research, technical collaborations, or industry training programs is advantageous.
• Assistant Professor applicants are preferred to have documented research publications or evidence of applied research work.
• Relevant professional engagement or industry experience in cybersecurity or related areas is beneficial.

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of three years of teaching experience following the highest degree earned.
• IELTS Academic minimum band score of 7 is mandatory.
