Job description
Role Impact
As a Senior Security Engineer at Isovalent, you will be instrumental in enforcing top-tier security standards throughout the software development lifecycle. You will engineer and implement cutting-edge vulnerability detection tools tailored for Isovalent's software, constantly fine-tuning them to highlight the most critical security signals. Ensuring uniform security protocols across all product development teams will be a key aspect of your role. You will also manage the assessment of vulnerabilities sourced from diverse tools including large language models, standard static and dynamic analysis scanners, cloud security tools, external assessments, and penetration tests. Continuously refining security workflows to enhance focus on high-impact issues, supported by metrics-driven insights, will be expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess a robust technical grasp of different vulnerabilities and clearly communicate their associated risks.
- Evaluate security solutions and prioritize interventions based on risk analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as development, release, and security personnel at Cisco to ensure rapid vulnerability remediation and clear documentation of security posture.
- Champion best security practices in team communications and processes.
Qualifications
- Technical expertise in information security or related fields, including significant knowledge of Linux security concepts.
- Proven experience in automation of security processes using programming/scripting languages like Go, Python, Bash, or infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, focusing on identifying, validating, and managing security vulnerabilities.
- Proven track record in successfully leading security initiatives from conception through execution.
- Strong organizational aptitude, communication capabilities, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Background in network security principles and technologies.
- Experience integrating large language models into security scanning workflows.
- Familiarity with configuring fuzz testing tools and dynamic application security testing scanners.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
