The ideal candidate will have a robust grasp of the physical principles governing quantum hardware, practical experience modeling quantum circuits in realistic environments, and a solid understanding of low-level quantum hardware control mechanisms. Effective communication skills and a drive to innovate at the forefront of technology are essential.
You will become part of a dynamic, expanding team with the opportunity to shape the software architecture underpinning Horizon Quantum Computing’s future product lines.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to design and develop Horizon’s quantum computing products.
- Address complex scientific and technical challenges related to product development and implement solutions in code for integration.
- Develop and refine quantum control mechanisms within Horizon’s product framework.
- Provide mentorship to junior scientists to support their technical growth and development.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of your work and present findings internally and externally.
- Prepare technical reports, research publications, and documentation as required.
- Partner with colleagues and external collaborators to innovate and safeguard intellectual property in quantum hardware and software.
- Stay informed on recent scientific advances and technical innovations in the quantum computing field.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral research or comparable R&D experience.
- Experience working with quantum hardware and realistic quantum circuit modeling.
- Proficiency with pulse-level programming languages.
- Familiarity with quantum computing concepts and technologies.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and preferably Matlab.
- Experience in formal software development methodologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.
- Self-driven with enthusiasm for continual learning and advancing technology.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
