Senior SAP ABAP / Fiori Full Stack Developer

Overview

The Senior SAP ABAP / Fiori Full Stack Developer will be accountable for designing, building, enhancing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex SAP enterprise applications across backend, service, and frontend layers. This position demands advanced expertise in ABAP programming combined with modern SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, OData, CDS, and RAP technologies.

The candidate will work closely with various stakeholders including functional consultants, business analysts, integration experts, Basis and security teams, vendors, and end-users to transform business requirements into secure, efficient, and maintainable software solutions. Responsibilities also include technical governance, performing code reviews, authoring documentation, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring knowledge sharing within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complete technical delivery lifecycle from requirement analysis to production support stabilization.
• Develop scalable backend components, APIs, and application logic in ABAP.
• Create responsive SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 user interfaces integrated with SAP Gateway and OData services.
• Build and extend S/4HANA applications using CDS views, RAP model, official APIs, adhering to clean core principles.
• Develop and maintain workflows, approval processes, My Inbox integration, and legacy Web Dynpro ABAP applications.
• Provide production support including root cause investigations, performance improvements, documentation, and technical guidance.

Specific Duties

• Core ABAP programming and development.

• Lead production support activities and provide technical leadership.

Experience Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in SAP technical development.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on ABAP programming and production support involvement.
• 5+ years working with object-oriented ABAP design and development.
• 5+ years experience developing SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications.
• 5+ years in OData services and SAP Gateway development including troubleshooting.
• 3+ years developing or enhancing S/4HANA applications.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with CDS data modeling, annotations, and performance tuning.
• 2+ years practical experience with RAP (managed or unmanaged) development.
• 3+ years working with classic or flexible SAP workflow solutions and support.
• 3+ years development and support in Web Dynpro ABAP.
• 5+ years experience with SAP interface technologies such as RFC, BAPI, IDoc, Proxy, SOAP, REST.
• 5+ years supporting critical SAP developments and resolving complex incidents.
• 3+ years performing code reviews, design assessments, mentoring, or technical coordination roles.
• Proven expertise across requirement analysis, design, build, testing, deployment, hypercare, and knowledge transfer phases.

Educational and Certification Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related fields.
• Preferred SAP certification in ABAP development for SAP S/4HANA or ABAP Cloud.
• Preferred SAP Fiori Application Developer certification.
• Additional SAP certifications in BTP, RAP, Fiori, Gateway or related current technologies are advantageous.

• Complete impact assessments, effort estimates, object inventories, technical specifications, and solution designs.
• Develop ABAP classes, reports, enhancements, forms, interfaces, services, and reusable modules.
• Create Fiori/SAPUI5 applications, Launchpad configurations, and UI documentation.
• Deliver OData services, CDS models, RAP business objects, APIs, and authorization designs.
• Implement workflows (classic/flexible), integration with My Inbox, escalation procedures, and monitoring setups.
• Prepare unit tests, evidence documentation, support SIT/UAT, regression testing, and defect resolutions.
• Define transport plans, deployment procedures, rollback plans, runbooks, root cause analyses, and production handover documentation.
• Maintain code quality including code-review evidence, ATC reports, compliance with standards, and knowledge transfer records.
