About the Role
The position requires a seasoned ABAP Consultant with substantial hands-on experience in CDS Views, Change Data Capture (CDC), SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT), and Delta Extraction techniques. This role plays a crucial part in designing, developing, managing, and supporting SAP data extraction processes that feed into SAP Datasphere and Databricks, contributing to a major Data Platform Modernization project.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and develop CDS Views with embedded CDC-compatible annotations.
- Design and deploy replication solutions leveraging CDC and SLT technologies.
- Oversee and diagnose issues in delta extraction workflows and data queues.
- Address challenges related to replication, performance optimizations, and ensuring data consistency.
- Work collaboratively with teams managing SAP Datasphere and Databricks.
- Provide support during system cutover, hypercare phases, and ongoing production environments.
Required Expertise
- Proficiency in ABAP CDS Views and SAP Core Data Services.
- In-depth knowledge of CDC processes and SLT tools.
- Experience with Delta Extraction and Delta Enablement methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAP Datasphere replication flows and ODP/Delta Queues.
- Skillful use of monitoring tools such as DHAdmin, DHCDC Monitor, DHCRDB Monitor, CDC Monitor.
- Experience working with SAP HANA and modules including PM, MM, FI, HR, and BW.
- Strong background in data replication and integration within SAP environments.
- Expertise in production support and troubleshooting of SAP data pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience with SAP Datasphere Replication flows.
- Exposure to Databricks integration within SAP data migration contexts.
- Participation in SAP-to-Cloud data migration initiatives.
- Experience setting up automated monitoring and alerting frameworks.
