Position Summary
The role of Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer involves significant contributions to both specialized and cross-disciplinary engineering assignments, performing tasks with a high degree of autonomy within the rotating equipment domain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry.
- Required attainment and maintenance of competence aligned with the technical competence framework standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular health monitoring and surveillance of critical rotating machinery, reporting findings and recommendations concerning any deviations to relevant stakeholders.
- Offer expert technical support and information to various engineering and non-engineering departments as necessary.
- Support operations and maintenance managers in decision-making during unplanned shutdowns caused by machinery faults, focusing on optimizing scope, options, and downtime duration.
- Investigate ongoing reliability problems of rotating equipment, analyze root causes, and propose solutions considering technical soundness and economic viability.
- Recommend and review modifications to equipment or systems aimed at boosting reliability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs), Risk Assessments, and HAZOP studies to identify hazards and reduce risks.
- Lead and execute specialized technical investigations of medium complexity, providing guidance on optimal approaches.
- Support project engineering by reviewing technical documents, assessing deviations, and making informed decisions.
- Assist in completing machinery-related projects, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, start-up activities, and evaluation of discrepancies.
- Provide mentorship and development support to junior engineers and local trainees to enhance their professional skills.
