Job Overview

The Senior RF Researcher role involves leading advanced research, development, and prototyping of radio frequency (RF) and microwave technologies applicable to industrial and scientific fields. This position balances leadership with hands-on research and engineering to deliver RF subsystems and demonstrator technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct research initiatives for RF and microwave technologies from initial concept stages through to prototype testing and validation.
• Design, simulate, build, and evaluate microwave circuits including high-power amplifiers, filters, and frequency conversion equipment.
• Use circuit simulation tools such as AWR Microwave Office, Keysight ADS, or similar software for RF and microwave circuit design.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers, fostering skill development within the team.
• Develop technical roadmaps and contribute to strategic research planning and proposal preparation.
• Manage laboratory activities including system integration, verification, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to transition research outputs into operational prototypes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• PhD or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in researching and developing RF, microwave, or electromagnetic systems.
• Proven leadership in managing technical teams, research projects, or work packages.
• Strong expertise in RF design covering frequency bands such as L, S, C, X, Ku, Ka, or higher.
• Proficiency with design and simulation software tools including ADS, AWR, HFSS, CST, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience operating RF laboratory instruments.
• Competency in PCB design, RF system integration, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Knowledge of Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) technologies is preferred.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW are advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for technical documentation and collaboration.
