About the Role
Join our Retirement Consulting team in the UAE as a Senior Retirement Actuarial Associate. This hybrid position requires your presence at the office for a minimum of three days per week. You will engage in a diverse array of actuarial consulting projects centered on pension and retirement benefits, working alongside clients to offer expert technical guidance, strategic advice, and pragmatic solutions to intricate retirement-related challenges.
Collaboration will be key as you partner with internal teams across consulting, risk, and retirement disciplines to deliver top-notch client outcomes and contribute to business development.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and support actuarial consulting assignments related to pensions and retirement benefits.
- Conduct actuarial analyses, valuations, and deliver strategic advice for pension funds and retirement schemes.
- Execute calculations and assessments for specialized retirement projects such as assumption studies, plan design reviews, plan terminations, early retirement windows, post-retirement medical considerations, and acquisition evaluations.
- Engage clients actively, providing expert advice and leading meetings.
- Prepare and review actuarial reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables.
- Ensure projects are completed timely with accuracy and high client satisfaction.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams within the firm to ensure cohesive delivery.
- Assist in business development initiatives and help grow client relationships.
- Keep updated on actuarial standards, pension industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science.
- Hold or be progressing towards professional actuarial certification such as SOA or IFoA.
- Fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of pension and retirement plan practices.
- Bring a minimum of seven years experience as a pension actuary or with pension funds.
- Exhibit strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and effective stakeholder management skills.
- Show capacity to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience advising institutional pension clients or sponsors of retirement plans.
- Knowledge of actuarial modeling, pension valuations, and related assumptions.
- Familiarity with regional or global retirement consulting practices.
- Well-developed presentation and client engagement skills.
