Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Reserving Actuary to join our Worldwide Non-Life Reserving department. Working under the Head of Non-Life Reserving – Specialty, this position involves managing the reserving activities for our international Specialty Reinsurance business. The person in this role will have substantial interaction with underwriting, claims, and senior leadership, playing a direct part in reserving decisions and delivering valuable business insights.

Key Duties

• Lead and contribute to in-depth reserve reviews across various Specialty portfolios like Aviation, Financial Lines, Property, Engineering, Marine, and Energy.
• Collaborate with underwriting, pricing, and claims teams to establish ACE reserves and assist in supporting Management Best Estimate (MBE) reserves.
• Provide consistent reserving insights to teams in Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Reinsurance Accounting, and Finance.
• Maintain active communication with Underwriting and Pricing teams to facilitate forward-looking decisions.
• Assist with both internal and external reserving reports, offering interpretation and perspective on results.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least three years of post-qualification experience in non-life reinsurance or insurance, with a strong background in reserving.
• Proven ability to work closely with underwriting teams.
• Preferably experienced within Specialty Reinsurance or Insurance.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain actuarial concepts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge in programming or data tools such as VBA, R, Python, or Power BI is advantageous.
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills with a practical approach.
• Highly motivated, flexible, team-centric, and innovative thinker capable of adapting to change.
• Strong stakeholder management abilities combined with integrity, self-awareness, and accountability.

Professional Credentials

• Fellowship or Associate membership of a recognized actuarial institute.
