Job description
Overview
We seek a Senior Research Scientist experienced in machine learning to join a dedicated and diverse team passionate about impactful work within the consumer intelligence industry. This role involves applying advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques—especially in natural language processing—to solve large-scale business challenges. A successful candidate will combine technical excellence with strong communication skills, enabling clear presentations to non-technical stakeholders and understanding broader business contexts.
Responsibilities
- Innovate and implement machine learning methods on business problems with minimal supervision.
- Critically evaluate personal and peer results for real-world applicability.
- Engage with stakeholders to capture requirements and report findings effectively.
- Conduct data feasibility studies to identify optimal technical solutions.
- Address diverse data challenges focusing on simplicity, scalability, reproducibility, and maintainability within ML solutions and source code.
- Ensure high-quality code and data maintenance with minimal defects.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams for ML solution deployment and integration.
- Promote team cohesion, motivation, and strong working relationships.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or a related numerate field (master's or PhD preferred).
- At least 7 years of senior-level experience in machine learning and deep learning using PyTorch.
- Proficient in exploratory data analysis for large datasets and writing reliable production-quality code.
- Ability to comprehend scientific literature and translate concepts into executable code.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and logical thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills in English, capable of engaging diverse international audiences.
- Proven ability to adhere to timelines and work effectively within multicultural teams.
- Technical proficiency in Python, PyTorch, Git, pandas, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face libraries.
- Good-to-have knowledge: MLOps, generative AI (prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation), SQL, ElasticSearch, Databricks, and experience in retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, or FMCG sectors.
