Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Head of Mid Market, the Senior Relationship Manager will play a pivotal leadership role in managing and growing the SME and Business Banking portfolio in Singapore. The position involves spearheading new client acquisition while deepening existing client relationships through customized financial solutions, all within a digital banking framework that emphasizes credit quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed both financial and non-financial individual targets by acquiring, nurturing, and retaining profitable medium market clients.
- Drive growth and new-to-bank client acquisition specifically within the Mid-Market SME sector.
- Generate new opportunities through personal networks, marketing outreach, sales initiatives, and partnerships.
- Maintain a well-organized and prioritized pipeline of new clients aligned with bank strategy, ensuring effective follow-up and conversion.
- Manage client relationships by understanding their needs and structuring suitable financial products.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Credit Risk and Operations to guarantee seamless service delivery.
- Perform thorough loan and credit evaluations independently to determine creditworthiness and appropriate financing structures.
- Ensure full compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor early risk signals and proactively coordinate necessary remediation.
- Maintain rigorous sales governance including KYC/AML compliance, client suitability assessments, and documentation quality; ensure audit and remediation tasks are completed promptly.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess 5 to 10 years of experience in SME or Mid-Market commercial banking, ideally servicing large local corporate segments, with a proven track record and established business connections.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in working capital management, trade finance, unsecured term lending, including knowledge of covenants, collateral, and documentation. Familiarity with accounts receivable financing or factoring is advantageous.
- Detailed understanding of KYC/AML standards, MAS regulatory requirements, sales governance, and audit remediation processes.
- Exhibit solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
